Sand Spikers Split in Santa Cruz- Head South This Week
Cuesta Women's Beach Volleyball split a pair of matches in Santa Cruz least week.  The Cougars opened with a sweep of San Mateo, 5-0, but lost to the host Seahawks, 4-1, in the nightcap.  Freshmen Rainey Snedden and Izzy Hendrickson, in their first matches of the season, picked up two wins to lead the Cougars, while helping them avoid the team sweep against Cabrillo.  Freshman Elizabeth Trimble and Sophomore Hanne Porter, at the #3 position, also pushed their match against the host Seahawks to a third set, but lost, 15-13.  The Cougars are now 2-2 on the season.
The Cougars are back on the road as they head South to play Golden West in Garden Grove.  The Cougars and Rustlers open the day at 10 AM and shall either play a doubleheader or an, as of yet, unnamed opponent.
