Cuesta Men's Basketball, still riding high after their first win of the season over Coalinga on Wednesday, fell to visiting Chabot, 77-60, tonight. The Cougars jumped out with an early lead against the visiting Gladiators, but Chabot recovered and took a ten-point lead into halftime, 34-24. After the intermission, Cuesta made several runs, but the "Glads" responded to the Cougars, who were only able to cut the lead to single digits once, before losing, 77-60. The win boosted Chabot season record to 8-2, while the Cougars fell to 1-7.
On the evening, 2025 all-WSC Guard Corbin Rossi and Freshman Evan Lin (pict) powered the Cougars' offense. Rossi led all scorers with 18 points in the game, while Lin came off the bench to score a career-high ten points. Sophomore Guard Oz Savage and his Rookie Backcourt-mate Nate Stroud both netted 13 points to lead Chabot.
Cuesta Men's Basketball returns to action next weekend at the three-day El Camino Tournament in Torrance. The Cougars shall open the event against unranked Los Angeles Valley on December 11 (3 PM). The Cougars shall not return to Cuesta Stork Gymnasium until the New Year, when they open their Western State Conference schedule by hosting local rival Allan Hancock on January 10 (1 PM)
