Cuesta's Cagers Earn a WSC Win over Oxnard, 78-62
Cuesta Men's Basketball hosted Oxnard College for a Western State Conference contest and beat the visiting Condors for the second time this season.  The Cougars also faced Oxnard on December 13 at the El Camino Tournament, where they beat them, while posting a team season-best 81 points.  The Cougars did not score as many points tonight; however, this evening's victory, 78-62, set the team's new season standard with a 16-point margin of victory.  The win also snapped a three-game losing streak and moved the Cougars' season record to 6-13 overall and 1-2 in WSC play.  The visiting Condors opened strong and took the lead into halftime, 31-28, but the Cougars adjusted and scored a season-high 50 points in the second half.  Sophomore Forward Ryan McNamee led the way by posting a double-double with game highs of both 16 points and ten rebounds.  The Cougars backcourt brace of James Nugent and Gryffin Kapao were right behind McNamee with 15 points each, while also dishing out a team-high four assists apiece.  The evening's victory moved the Cougars to 6-13 overall and 1-2 in WSC play.

The Cougars return to the road next week for two more games against the WSC-North Circuit.  Cuesta plays at Ventura on Wednesday (5 PM) and Los Angeles Pierce (3 PM) on Saturday.
