Cuesta Softball Sophomore Addy Finegan and Cierra Cloud both finished their time with the Cougars with monster sophomore campaigns. Both players earned all-State recognition for a team that finished 4th in the Western State Conference. Finegan, who came to Cuesta from Buchanon High in Clovis, shall continue her tour of California as a member of the CSU San Bernardino Coyotes, while Cloud heads North to Oregon Tech, just over the border in Klamath Falls.
Third Baseman Addy Finegan etched her name all throughout the Cougars' single season and career leaderboards in 2026, while earning WSC Player of the Year honors and making the All-State team. Finegan followed up an All-WSC First Team selection during her freshman year by leading the entire state with a 1.210 slugging percentage and launching a state-leading 22 home runs. Her collection of roundtrippers would have broken the career home run record for the Cougars by itself, while her 63 RBI's and .571 on base percentage both rank 2nd all-time for the Cougars. To cap her career, she also broke Reese Tartaglia's career record for RBI with 92, while her .951 slugging mark is second all-time. Finegan should provide a big boost to a Coyotes team that finished 21-28 in 2026. San Bernardino competes in the NCAA-II as part of the CCAA.
Outfielder Cierra Cloud joined Finegan on the All-State squad, as a member of the All-Southern California team, while earning her first All-WSC nod as a member of the loop's First Team. Cloud patrolled centerfield Cloud and barely edged out Finegan for the team batting title (.516 vs .513) and finished fifth in race for the 3C2A State Batting Crown. Her team leading nine triples set the new single season record for Cuesta breaking Bre Ojala mark set in 2014. All of her triple slash marks .516/.567/.905 are all top five in a single season for the Cougars. Cloud is set to join an Owls' squad that reached the NAIA Playoffs and posted a 43-10 record during the 2026 season.
