Cuesta Women's Soccer continues its first swing through the Western State Conference North Division this Tuesday (4 PM), when the Cougars host #13 Santa Barbara City.  The visiting Vaqueros are currently the only ranked team from WSC North- a conference that boasted four playoff teams in 2024.  Cuesta is also set to host Moorpark on Friday (4 PM).  The Raiders were also a playoff team in 2025 but are currently a half-game behind the Cougars in the WSC table.  

 

The Cougars spilt a pair of Western State Conference games last week.  Cuesta opened the week at Oxnard and blew away the host Condors, 3-0.  The Cougars scored late with Freshman Lexie Steelman scoring twice in the last ten minutes of the game and Laney Westcott nailing the an insurance goal just before the final whistle.  On Friday, Ventura hosted and beat Cuesta with a pair of goals in the second half, including the clincher on a penalty with just over ten minutes to play.   The Cougars' offense has averaged better than a goal a game this season, while their defense continues to improve.  The Cougars gave up seven goals in their first two games of the season but have allowed only eight goals over their last six fixtures.
