Cuesta Women's Track and Field contingent for the 2026 3C2A State Track & Field is heavy on the throwing events, while also adding experience and versatility.  2025 all-State Thrower Kiera Taylor, one of the most versatile athletes in Cuesta history, is joined by fellow two-time State Qualifiers Kristy Huynh and Mia Martin, as well as newcomers Nevaeh Dyer and Bella Teresi in a line-up loaded with throwers. 

 

Taylor earned all-State honors in the Discus last year, as well as all-Conference honors in volleyball, while also playing basketball and Redshirting in Beach Volleyball.  This season, after volleyball, she skipped out on basketball and the beach to concentrate on her throwing.  The move turned into results this Spring, as she earned Western State Conference titles in both the Discus and Hammer, while also earning all-WSC accolades in the Shot Put. 

 

Taylor's pair of titles combined with Heptathlete Kristy Huynh, in the Javelin, and fellow Thrower Bella Teresi, victory in the Shot Put completed the Cougars' sweep of the WSC throwing titles.   The trio has continued to advance out of the regional and is set for state.  Taylor shall compete in the Discus and join Teresi in the Hammer, while Teresi will also join Nevaeh Dyer in the Shot Put.  Huynh will let it fly solo in the Javelin, although she will have company in the High Jump.  Fellow 2025 State Place Winner Mia Martin is also back in the High Jump.
