Sophomore Thrower Nevaeh Dyer is the final ESPN1280 Athlete of the Week for the 2025-26 school year.  Dyer closed out her first season at Cuesta with a Silver Medal at the 2026 3C2A State Track & Field Championships, behind 2025 State Champion Mackenzie Monson.  Dyer, who set the school standard for the Shot Put earlier in the season, 45-1.5, earned her medal on her third toss of the day at  41' 10.75".  Dyer and the Cougars' throwing team have been dominant this season and she carried the banner for a unit that boasted six place winners in the four throwing events at the championships. 

 

The Cougars finished the 2026 campaign ranked 13th at the 3C2A Championships, after taking the team Silver in the Western State Conference.
