Women's Track & Field Finishes 13th at State- Dyer & Huynh Earn All-State

Women's Track & Field sent advanced eight athletes to compete in eight events at the 2026 3C2A State Championships last weekend. The unit boasted experience and some high-performance newcomers.  The Cougars' entered the meet behind returning all-State Performer Kiera Taylor and fellow State Place Winners Kristy Huynh and Mia Martin, who combined to compete in five events.  Newcomers Nevaeh Dyer and Bella Teresi completed the Cougars' throw heavy contingent.  2025 Team MVP Kristy Huynh showed off her versatility by earning all-State honors with a Bronze in the Javelin (126-7), before joining Martin in the High Jump.  Martin took 6th (5-1) in the event, while Huynh settled for 11th place (4-11).  The Cougars' highest scoring competitor was Cuesta Record Holder Nevaeh Dyer.  Dyer earned a Silver Medal in the Shot Put with a toss of 41-10.75, while Teresi took 6th in the Shot Put (40-5.5) and 12th in the Hammer (126-8).   Taylor cracked the Top 10 in both the Hammer (8th) and Discus (9th), but was well short of her top marks in both events.
