Cuesta College Female Athlete of the Month, September 2025- Cayley Brown, Volleyball

Cuesta College Athletics Department is proud to announce this month's selections for the Cuesta Athlete of the Month.  This distinct honor recognizes two Cuesta College Athletes each month during the school year who have performed to the highest standards in their sport.  Our female selection for September is Sophomore Spiker Cayley Brown

Returning all-Western State Conference Outside Hitter Cayley Brown has stepped season into the role of the Cougars' top offensive threat.  Last year, Brown paired Cuesta's All-Time Kill Leader Bailey Woodside to power the Cougars' offense and has now stepped into that lead role as sophomore.  Brown, with a team-high 203 kills, is closing in on her freshman year total of 222 kills, while also taking on a bigger role on the court.  On offense, she currently leads the Cougars with both 203 kills and 36 service aces, while also pacing the defense with a team-leading 148 digs.  On her career, Brown has surpassed Woodside's career record for service aces to become the first Cuesta Spiker to reach the century mark. Her new standard currently stands at 104 aces.  She also became the 9th Cuesta player, on record, to post over 400 career kills (425).

Cuesta Volleyball is currently 8-7 on the season and has dropped the team's first two WSC matches.  The Cougars will continue their Western State Conference schedule when Los Angeles Pierce comes to SLO next Wednesday (5 PM), October 8.
