Spikers Return to SLO for a Three-Match Homestand
Cuesta Women's Volleyball returns to San Luis Obispo for a three-match homestand against the Western State Conference-North Division.  The Cougars open this week against Los Angeles Pierce on Wednesday (5 PM) and face #13 Moorpark on Friday (6 PM).  Cuesta also welcomes local rival Allan Hancock next Wednesday (6 PM), before going back on the road to complete their first swing through the WSC circuit.

On Wednesday the Cougars face a resurgent Brahmas' squad that has spent the past two seasons in the WSC Cellar with a combined 5-40 overall record, which did not include any wins against the WSC.  Pierce is currently 4-3 on the season and among the six teams, in the seven-team WSC-North, boasting a winning record on the season.  The Brahmas shall visit SLO on Wednesday (5 PM).  On Friday (6 PM), Cuesta continues its homestand when #13 Moorpark comes to Cuesta's Stork Gym.  The Cougars are looking for their first win over Moorpark since October 23, 2015, which is their longest current drought against any of their WSC foes.

Last week, the Cougars travelled to Santa Barbara and fell to the 6th-ranked Vaqueros in a sweep (25-21, 25-19, 25-13).  Cuesta battled their hosts to a pair of close games to open the match; however the Vaqueros closed strong in the finale.  Cuesta is 8-7 on the season, but 0-2 against the WSC.
