Spikers Open Second Swing Through the WSC on the Road
Cuesta Women's Volleyball shall get a second shot at the 24th-ranked Ventura Pirates, when they begin their second swing through the Western State Conference on Wednesday (6 PM).  The Cougars and Pirates went five sets in San Luis Obispo on September 26, with the Cougars sandwiching the Pirates wins in the 2nd (25-20) and 3rd (25-18) sets by taking the opening set (25-20) and forcing the fifth, after taking the 4th (25-18).  However, after four-sets and 43 points each, the Pirates claimed the final set and the match, 15-2.  The Cougars, 10-9 overall, will be looking for a measure of revenge against the Pirates this week, before returning home to host #6 Santa Barbara City on Friday (6 PM).

The Cougars, after beating local rival Allan Hancock last Wednesday, were swept (25-15, 25-22, 25-18) by #7 Los Angeles Mission in Sylmar on Friday. The WSC-North currently boasts four teams among the Top 25 vote recipients in the State, while the Cougars were listed among the teams with the most votes outside the Top 25.
