The men, who took 2nd place as a team in the WSC Preview, are chasing their first conference title since 1981, when Cuesta was a member of the Coast Conference and part of the Northern California Region. The Cougars will be led by 2024 3C2A Champion Weston Greenelsh, with returning all-WSC Harrier John-Paul Walsh and Rookie Jeff Mendonca helping led the scoring team. Walsh and Mendonca are the only Cuesta Runners to score in all six of the Cougars' regular-season events. Harriers Anthony Frere and Jeff Schindler have each joined the Cougars' scoring team four times this season, while Sophomore Aidan Gibson and Freshmen Oscar Allen and Colton Baker have also scored in multiple events
The women, as a team, have only scored in half of their meets during the regular season, but, when fielding complete squad, they have battled at the top of the pack. The Cougars were the overall runner-up at the Bulldog Invitational, took 5th at Hartnell's Pink in the Park and, in their last start, finished 12th at the 35-team SoCal Preview. Cuesta's all-rookie team shall chase the program's first WSC Crown since 1993 and, if all five members of the unit are healthy, they should also race themselves into the post-season. Freshman Isabella Efner led the Cougars in each of their first five starts, but was edged by teammate Rebekah Waterbury, 20:44 to 20:59, among the 35-teams and 200-plus runners at the SoCal Preview. Fellow Freshmen Sophia Esparza Perez, Selena Trejo and Sarah Garcia shall complete the Cougars' scoring team.
